General Terms and Conditions
General Terms and Conditions for ski courses, snowboard courses, private lessons and ski rental by Snow & Mountain Sports, Altaussee. Season 2026/27.
1. Scope and contracting party
The contracting party is Franz und Herbert Loitzl OG (Snow & Mountain Sports), Lichtersberg 87, 8992 Altaussee. These terms apply to all services of the ski school and the ski rental. Conflicting terms of the customer only apply if we agree to them in writing.
2. Conclusion of contract
The online course enquiry is an offer by the customer. The contract is concluded as soon as we confirm the enquiry (by e-mail or in the booking app). For children and young people, the legal guardian makes the booking. Contract languages are German and English.
3. Services
We offer group courses (half day and full day), the Kinderland course, piste courses, snowboard courses and private lessons on the Loser in Altaussee. The description at the time of booking applies. The ski school assigns groups by age and ability. Instructor, group and meeting point may be changed at short notice if the course requires it.
4. Prices and payment
The prices published at the time of booking apply, including VAT. Payment is made on site at the ski school, in cash or by card. Only what was actually booked or used is charged. If a course is extended or expanded, the additional effort is charged according to the current price list.
5. Cancellation by the customer
Please cancel by phone or e-mail to the ski school.
- Cancellation up to the day before the course day: free of charge, the place becomes available.
- Cancellation on the course day itself or no-show: the day is charged.
- Booked course days that are not cancelled are charged according to the rules in item 4.
There is no statutory right of withdrawal for distance contracts, because these are services related to leisure activities with a fixed date (Section 18(1) no. 10 Austrian Distance and Off-Premises Contracts Act).
6. Cancellation by the ski school, weather and lift operation
In case of bad weather, avalanche danger, lift failure, illness of the instructor or too few participants, we may cancel or reschedule courses in whole or in part. We decide case by case whether a cancelled day is charged; a course day that does not take place is generally not charged. Amounts already paid are credited or refunded. Further claims do not exist, except in cases of intent or gross negligence.
7. Participation, health and equipment
Participants must be physically fit for skiing; please tell us about any restrictions before the course. Children wear a ski helmet during lessons. Equipment must be in working order and properly adjusted (rental available). Instructors' instructions must be followed; in case of serious misconduct or endangering others we may exclude participants without refunding the price.
8. Supervision, drop-off and pick-up
Our duty of supervision applies only during the booked course time. Meeting point and time are stated in the confirmation. Children are handed over on time and collected after the course by an authorised person. Before and after course times and during breaks outside the course, the legal guardians are responsible.
9. Ski rental
The equipment is handed over in proper condition and the binding is set according to your details (weight, height, age, ability). Please provide correct and complete information. The renter is liable for loss, theft and damage beyond normal wear. The rental period ends at the agreed return time; late return is charged as an additional rental day. A binding setting does not replace your own responsibility when skiing.
10. Liability
We are liable for damage only in cases of intent or gross negligence; statutory liability applies to personal injury. Skiing and snowboarding involve risks; the FIS rules of conduct must be observed. We accept no liability for valuables, clothing and equipment brought along. Statutory rights of consumers remain unaffected.
11. Photo and video
We only publish photos and videos of courses with the consent of the participants, for children with the consent of their legal guardians. Consent is optionally requested at booking and can be revoked at any time for the future (e-mail to office@snow-mountain.at).
12. Data protection
How we process personal data is described in our Privacy Policy.
13. Applicable law and jurisdiction
Austrian law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods and conflict-of-law rules. For consumers, the statutory place of jurisdiction applies. Information on dispute resolution is in the Legal Notice.
14. Final provisions
Amendments and additions must be in text form. If individual provisions are invalid, the others remain valid. Last updated: October 2026.
